Impossible Is Nothing

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Hi

I want you to read the following statements by these three skeptics -

  • "Professor Goddard does not know the relation between action and reaction and the need to have something better than a vacuum against which to react. He seems to lack the basic knowledge ladled out daily in high schools."- 1921 New York Times editorial about Robert Goddard’s revolutionary rocket work.
  • "Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible."– Lord Kelvin, president, Royal Society, 1895
  • "Louis Pasteur’s theory of germs is ridiculous fiction" - Pierre Pachet, Professor of Physiology at Toulouse, 1872

And then I want you to read the profiles of the Wright brothers, Robert Goddard and Louis Pasteur .

What do all these men have in common? They proved the first three statements above and their detractors - wrong!

They dared to dream big and most importantly didn’t allow fear of failure or other people’s skepticism to cripple their resolve to be successful.

What about you? Do you have big dreams or even small ones?

Do you fantasize about going to college and getting a degree ? Or maybe you doodle your vision of a concept car that you hope one day would become a household name - only to shoot yourself down with doubt?

Well, if you do, I want you to read this article which tells you about some of the greatest scientist and thinkers of the last century. You’ll see that many of them went through failure, poverty and ill-health before reaching their goals.

Read the article more than once if you have to and let it fire you up. Give yourself permission to think "outside the box" and then take action on the things you really want.

How do you take action? Follow the proven path others have taken to success. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Educate yourself by reading their books, their blogs - join an association of like minded individuals and get ready to fail faster.

You heard me right - FAIL FASTER. If you take action and fail, you’ll find out what doesn’t work so that next time, you won’t make the same mistakes. The faster this process happens, the quicker success will come.

Impossible is nothing.

Make it a great day

David
