I previously wrote about starting your own online business as one way to insulate yourself from turbulent economic times. An online business is the easiest vehicle I know to get extra cash rolling in whilst holding down a regular job. If you haven’t read my two previous posts on this matter, check them out here and here now before reading the rest of this post.

To summarize what I have written so far -

1. Find out what people want to buy online. People want their problems solved. They want to have better sex, want to have a nice garden, want to improve their golf game, want to make more money etc. Your job is to show them how. You can find out what people are looking for by going to www.wordtracker.com or www.nichebot.com.

2. Decide if you are going to create your own product or sell other people’s product. Because these products solve people’s problems, they will be more inclined to buy from you. If you are a newbie, I recommend that you start out selling other people’s product. You can find tons of products to sell at www.cj.com or www.clickbank.com

3. Create a website around the product you are offering. The website should be filled with lots of solid information that eventually refers people to the product you are offering.

Now I hear you saying that you don’t know how to create a website. Well, the good news is that you don’t need any. If you can send an email you can have your own website. What you need is a website builder that just requires you to just “click here” and “click there” and voila- you have a website ready to go. No technical skills needed.

I recommend this website builder. It has a proven track record of taking ordinary people and making them into successful internet marketers.

As a matter of fact, this website builder is more than just a tool. It comes with a simple step-by-step guide for building a solid online business. Everything is covered from researching a market, finding the products, writing the content and constructing your website.

And once you lay the foundation you won’t have to worry about getting customers to come to your website and buy. You won’t have to pay for advertising because you’ll be getting free traffic from search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN etc.

If a guy like me with basic typing skills can build a profitable website, believe me, so can you.

Check out this website builder today.

Make it a great weekend

Hi

It is D-Day for the USA or should I say “E-Day.” Many people are no doubt pinning their hopes on their favorite candidate winning. But have you really given any thought to what is going to happen to your life if Obama or McCain wins?

Given the mess that things are in, particularly the economy and the war in Iraq, I believe there won’t be any magical transformations any time soon.

Here are two things that are of major concern:

Fact: The U.S unemployment rate reached 6.1%, the highest in 5 years.

Fact: Top US economists agree that the recession will continue throughout 2009

No question, whoever becomes President is obligated to deal with these problems. But what will largely determine how well you deal with these problems is not what a President does; it is what happens inside of you and your actions.

If you are facing unemployment, debt or a tough financial situation, you are gonna start asking yourself some tough questions and take tough action. Motivation speaker, Tony Robbins once said that the quality of questions you ask yourself determines the quality of your life. He was right.

I believe there are answers out there to just about every problem- it is just for you to find them.

If you are unemployed, is there a new skill you could learn that is in high demand? Is your city offering any financial assistance for students looking to get into a particular field of study. Start probing and reading - the answers are there.

Maybe you want to have your own business. Start thinking about what you are good at and how you can offer your expertise to people. You could put up a website inexpensively and market that business to thousands. As a matter of fact, I tell you how to go about that here.

Remember, the answers are around you, but quite often, something has to change within you first before you see those answers.

Let me give you an example. Three years ago I was facing what I thought was “death.” I was thousands of dollars in debt; the banks were calling constantly and I was paying as much as I could. Seemingly no way out right? I thought so too.

I began searching the net one day for ways on dealing with debt. Honestly, I didn’t know what I was looking for but I guess subconsciously I was looking for a way out. By nature, I am a guy who likes to investigate things, so reading stuff on the net for hours isn’t an unusual activity for me.

Lucky for me, I stumbled upon a site called “I hate debt,” where I read about consumer associations that work with people in debt to reduce their indebtedness.

These associations work out a manageable payment plan which they then present to the banks. Often times the bank accepts the reduced payment plan because they know that the customer is in no shape to pay the full amount.

After finding out about such organizations, I was able to find a very reputable one in my jurisdiction. So reputable in fact that the organization operates with the blessing of the financial industry. And to this day, they work closely with me to make sure I can make regular payments.

So today, as America makes up its mind, start the process of change in your own mind. Go for it.

Have a great day

David

Hi

If you have lost your job as a result of the financial crisis or for any reason at all it is time to lessen your dependence on a salary. Job security essentially, does not exist - you have to put your financial destiny in your own hands.

My #1 way for doing this is to start an online business. Indeed, you may have to find another job or keep your current job in order to keep the bill collectors off your back. However, if you can spare $300 - trust me when I say that you can turn it into a good monthly income. I have done it and am doing it right now.

To lay the foundation of a successful online business you need

1. A product or service to sell. Now, there are two ways to go about this. One is to create and sell your own product and the other is to sell other people’s products as an affiliate and earn commissions. If you are an internet newbie, you may wanna go with the latter and a little later when you become more experienced, you could create your own product.

Some fantastic places to find other people’s products to sell are www.cj.com, www.linkshare.com, www.shareresults.com and www.clickbank.com. Sign up with these companies and see which products/services grab your attention. Then you’ll need to build a website that contains good content about the product you have chosen. More on this in another blog post.

If you’re going to create your own product, it is best to go with an idea you are passionate about, although you can create a product that you have no passion for. Do you enjoy golf, planning parties, playing the stock market or sewing. You can create a product like an ebook or audio file around one of these topics and deliver it to customers via the internet.

Here is a fantastic resource that takes you step by step from creating a hot product to selling it successfully online.

2. Before you create/promote a product, do research to find out if it has a market of people ready to spend money. Products/Services that are focused on helping people with their money, health and relationships problems tradionally sell well.

The best place to do research is Wordtracker. You have to pay for it but it is worth it. This service will tell you how often people are searching on the internet for any good or service, what keywords they used and how many websites are targeting those keywords.

So for example, when people go to Google and searched for “sex health tips” - Wordtracker is able to tell you how popular that term is with consumers and your competitors. This will help you to gauge whether it is worth creating a product around “sex health tips” or not.

Stay tuned for more information on how to create an internet business to crunch the credit crunch.

Make it a great day

David
